How to Save Big at Kohl's: Verified Coupons, Rewards & Shopping Secrets

Refunds can be lower when you used Kohl’s Cash or Kohl’s Rewards. Rewards used on the order are deducted from the refund, and Kohl’s Cash may be reissued instead of refunded to your card. Kohl’s also offers free in-store Amazon returns. Start the return on Amazon and choose Kohl’s Drop-off. Bring the item and QR code to the store so you avoid packing and shipping costs.

Save every time with Kohl's Cash

Kohl’s Cash lets you earn $10 for a future purchase every time you spend $50 during a Kohl’s Cash earning event. You earn it on one order, then use it on a later order during the redemption window. That means it only saves you money when you already planned to spend that amount and will shop again before it expires.

Spending $100 during a Kohl’s Cash earning event, you earn $20 in Kohl’s Cash to use on a later order. The threshold matters. A $49 cart earns nothing. Adding a $2 item to bring the total to $51 earns $10 in Kohl’s Cash. That can be a smart move if the extra item is something you already needed and you know you will use the $10 on your next Kohl’s order. It is not a good deal when you add items you do not need just to cross the $50 mark. For example, spending an extra $15 to earn $10 still leaves you $5 behind.

For larger purchases, waiting for a Kohl’s Cash event can help. But, compare the future value to the discount available now. A direct 25% off today can be better than paying more now just to earn 20% back for later.

Kohl’s Cash makes the most sense when you are already near a spending threshold and expect to place another order before the redemption window ends. If earning it requires extra spending or a second order you would not have made otherwise, the value drops quickly.

Shopping at Kohl's is all about stacking discounts. To get the lowest prices on home decor, small kitchen appliances, and athleisure, always combine an active Kohl's promo code with your earned Kohl's Cash. Keep an eye out for exclusive brand exclusions; while national giants like Nike or Sephora at Kohl's products are often excluded from standard coupons, you can freely use your discount codes on popular private labels like The Big One towels, Sonoma Goods for Life clothing, and Tek Gear activewear. Start by accessing the cart icon at the top right of the Kohl’s website. Log in to view and apply any available Kohl's Cash or saved offers from the Kohl's Wallet. You can still use a coupon even without logging in.

The app is useful for three savings reasons:

• It lets you scan paper coupons into the app, which helps when you have more than one offer to track

The main value is convenience. It can hold paper coupons once you scan them into your account. It can also show flash sales, weekend offers, and clearance updates, so all eligible discounts can be visible at once while you shop. With so many potential ways to save at Kohl's, having access to all the options at once means you can be sure you're always clicking "purchase" with the lowest possible cart total.

Check whether a coupon applies before you buy. Some sale or clearance items may qualify for an extra discount, while others may not. Compare the final checkout price instead of assuming the coupon will stack. Kohl's does keep a running list of coupon-eligible/excluded brands. It's best to reference this page when you're not sure. Shop Sale & Clearance first, then apply a coupon only if it lowers the total even more.

The best times to shop at Kohl's

Kohl’s biggest discounts usually show up during a few key sale periods each year. The main ones to watch are:

Black Friday and Cyber Week are better for bigger purchases and gift shopping. Friends & Family works better for planned purchases when you want a percent-off discount without waiting until November. Semi-Annual clearance is better when your goal is the lowest price and you do not mind limited selection. Holiday home sales are the better time to buy bedding, kitchen items, towels, and other housewares.
